Good morning! As I mentioned in last week's update, the health and safety levels in our community are worsening very rapidly due to COVID-19. We wanted to officially say “Thank you” to Family Healthcare of Hagerstown for the donation of children’s books to our agency! We are focused on protecting the health and safety of our children, families and staff. Head Start of Washington County will remain closed to children and staff through May 15th, 2020. The potential to re-open on Monday, May 15th seems unlikely, but we will continue to follow the school schedule at this point for our children. “Head Start of Washington County is taking proactive steps to address the Coronavirus if it is spread to our community. Staff will continue to implement standard protocols to prevent the spread of viruses (i.e. encouraging frequent hand washing, healthy sneeze/cough etiquette, disinfecting and sanitizing surfaces, etc.). Emergency response plans are being reviewed and adjusted based on this rapidly changing situation.
