Teacher Assistant ( FT with Hiring Bonus ) 3 Openings

POSITION: Full-Time HS Teacher Assistant (open positions at 3 locations)

 

LOCATION 1:  
Elgin Station Center (40 Elgin Blvd., Hagerstown, MD)
Hours: 10:15 am to 5:45 pm, Monday thru Friday
37.5 hours per week /  52 weeks per year

 

LOCATION 2:  
Martin Luther King Center (131 W. North Ave., Hagerstown, MD)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday
40 weeks per year
Children attend Monday-Thursday, abbreviated schedule on Fridays   

 

LOCATION 3: 
Noland Community Center  (1048 Noland Drive, Hagerstown, MD)
Hours:  7:30 am - 3:30 pm; 
40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday
44 weeks per year

 

SALARY RANGE:

• Associate’s Degree -- $14.85 hr
• CDA – $14.00 hr
• Senior Staff -- $13.75 hr
  Several entry-level courses in Early Childhood Education may qualify as Senior Staff.

HIRING BONUS- $1,000

• The initial bonus of $250 upon hire.
• $250 after successful completion of 90 days of employment.
• $500.00 after successful completion of 6 months of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:              

Minimum of Pre-School Senior Staff qualification.  Ability to achieve CDA within one year from date of hire if do not possess an Associate’s degree.   Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:           

Responsible for assisting in all aspects of classroom operation and participation in health, nutrition, child development, social services, and parent involvement activities.  Main duties include:  greeting parents and children, gathering supplies/materials for the day, setting up activities, assisting with toileting children, assisting with lunchtime, planning, preparing children for departure, working with parents/volunteers, and preparing the room for the next day, assisting with information for assessment purposes, supervising children indoors and outdoors, teaching concepts/skills per Head Start Performance Standards.
