HEAD START PRESCHOOL

Head Start Preschool Classes Available for Children age 3 to 5 years.

Head Start programs help children get ready to succeed in school and in life through learning experiences tailored to their changing needs and abilities. Head Start Preschool services are located in child development centers.

OPTION 1

Extended Day | Part-Year (September-June);

Four Head Start Preschool Classrooms;

Classes operate from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday;

at our MLK Center  (131 W. North Avenue, Hagerstown, MD)

OPTION 2
Extended Day | Part-Year  (September-June);
Five Head Start Preschool Classrooms; 
Classes operate from  9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday;
at Sargent Shriver HS Center (837 Spruce Street, Hagerstown, MD)
 

OPTION 3
Full-Day | Part-Year  (September-June);
One Pre-K Classroom;
This Class operates from  9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday;
at Sargent Shriver HS Center (837 Spruce Street, Hagerstown, MD)
 

OPTION 4
Full-Day | Full-Year (September-August);
Two Head Start Preschool Classrooms;
Classes operate from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday;
This center requires parents to transport to and from the center; Bus transportation is not available, AND a Child Care Scholarship is required for children to attend this center;
at Elgin Station Center (40 Elgin Blvd., Hagerstown, MD)
 

OPTION 5
Extended Day | Part-Year (September-June);
One Head Start Preschool Classroom;
This Class operates from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday;
at Noland Community Center (1048 Noland Drive, Hagerstown, MD)*

* Note: Children in McCleary Hill can also be transported to this center. Children living in 
Noland/McCleary Hill, from birth to age 3, may also attend our Shriver Center.*

Mandated Reporting
State law and (HSWC) Head Start of Washington County, Inc policy and regulation require that all employees immediately make a report to the Washington County Department of Social Services if they suspect that a child has been the victim of abuse such as physical abuse, mental injury, sexual abuse, human trafficking or neglect.

If you suspect child abuse or neglect, you are also encouraged to report your suspicion to the Department of Social Services at (240) 420-2222.   Line is available 24 hours a day.
