Washington County Free Library offers Summer Reading Program

We always encourage our families to have their children get plenty of hours playing outdoors.  Playing outside is fun, adventurous and not to mention great exercise.  In the Summer months sometimes it is just too hot to be outdoors and the  children just spend all their time indoors watching of  tv or playing on electronics.  Check this out , you can  beat the heat this summer and stay indoors  and expand your child’s reading skills when the temperatures  are high.  Very hot conditions can put children at risk of heatstroke, heat exhaustion, burns from hot object like playground equipment, sunburn, and excessive thirst, especially during active play. Have kids stay indoors when temperatures are over 35ºC – 40ºC/95ºF – 100ºF .
