PROGRAM UPDATE: January 27 2021

PROGRAM UPDATE:  PLANS TO RE-OPEN HEAD START CENTERS:

**I am going to separate this into "phases" but please know that the dates are guidelines and may very well change if we encounter outbreaks or other road blocks**

PHASE 1:

Beginning Tuesday, February 16, HSWC will be re-opening our Elgin and Noland sites.

In general, we hope to fully re-open Noland and open Elgin at around half capacity.
Staff will be contacting parents regarding the status of their child.

In person hours may be shortened in order to allow for appropriate cleaning and sanitation.

Everyone else will continue distance learning.

PHASE 2:

Beginning Monday, March 1 HSWC will be re-opening our MLK and Shriver sites.

We will continue distance learning in many classrooms but in general, we will re-open those classrooms previously open to in person children.

Staff will be contacting parents regarding the status of their child.  Those that previously attended in person will be given first priority.

In person hours may be shortened in order to allow for appropriate cleaning and sanitation.

Everyone else will continue distance learning.

PHASE 3:

IF Phase 1 and 2 have proceeded without major incident, we will continue to expand a little more every 2 weeks.

On March 15th we hope to re-open infant rooms at Shriver and MLK at half capacity and perhaps increase numbers in other rooms previously opened.

Home based will return to outdoor visits at this time.

Everyone else will continue distance learning.

**We will move through these phases with caution, hoping to continue to add more in person children if things are going well.

**All previously used screening, cleaning and safety measures will remain in place. Visitors will not be allowed inside buildings and transportation will be available on a very limited basis.**

**Please reach out to your Family Advocate or Teacher if you have specific questions**

THANKS!!  We are excited to start welcoming back some children to our buildings!!
