Online Testing Module

Employee Testing Requirements

Please review the following online training videos for:

  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Hazard Communications
  • Emergency Procedures Plan

After each training module, please complete the test and print certificate. Forward certificates to Elizabeth Smith in Human Resource Department.

Transportation Staff (Bus Drivers, Bus Aides, Substitutes, Employees who ride on the bus) must read the Bus Response Plan and take the quiz as well.


Bloodborne Pathogens Training Section

This training module is designed to provide an awareness or basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of their transmission, methods of prevention, and other pertinent information. This training is designed to meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) Bloodborne Pathogen Standard.

Hazard Communication Training Section

This training module is designed to provide awareness and understanding of  the Hazard Communication Standards. In order to ensure chemical safety in the workplace, information about the identities and hazards of the chemicals must be available and understandable to workers. OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires the development and dissemination of such information. All employers with hazardous chemicals in their workplaces must have labels and Safety Data Sheets for their exposed workers, and train them to handle the chemicals appropriately.This training module meets OSHA requirements for training employees on the Hazard Communication Standards.

Emergency Procedure Plan Training Section

This training module is designed to provide an awareness or basic understanding of our Emergency Procedure Plan for each Head Start Center and other pertinent information. There are no training videos for this section of the online training. Employee’s must have a printed copy of the centers Emergency Procedure Plan.

Step One

Please read the entire Emergency Procedure Plan for your designated center. If you are a substitute, you must read all center plans (MLK Center, Elgin Center, Sgt. Shriver Center, and Noland Center).

Bus Emergency Response Plan Training Section

This training module is designed to provide an awareness or basic understanding of our Bus Emergency Response Plan for transportation staff . There are no training videos for this section of the online training. Employee’s must have a printed copy of the centers Bus Emergency Response Plan.

OSHA Fire Extinguishers Use Training (Optional Training)

This free tutorial covers the requirements for an educational program on the use of portable fire extinguishers and the hazards of incipient stage fire-fighting required by OSHA when portable extinguishers are made available for employee use in the workplace. Covers selection of extinguishers based on type or class of fire material (A, B, C, D, and/or K), the PASS method for using an extinguisher, and some important things to remember when using an extinguisher. Free for employers to use for worker training and for non-profit safety organizations to share with their members, compliments of OSHA Training Services Inc.
