Classroom Resource Assistant  FT
MLK Center; 38 hrs per week; 52 wks per year
Salary: Sr Staff: $10.10 per hr;   Associates Degree $11.93 per hr
Includes Benefits
Minimum qualifications – High School diploma or equivalent and senior staff status; one year experience working in a classroom setting with children with special needs.  Associates degree in Early Childhood education or related field preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:        

Provide classroom support for staff working with children with special needs.  Main duties:  Work 1:1 within the larger group; assist with individualization or activities and managing classroom behaviors; support classrooms as a third staff person.  Also serve as bus assistant (AM and PM bus runs).

Permanent Substitute
All Center Locations; 35 hrs per week; 52 wks per year; 7am-5:45 pm; M-F
Salary: Sr Staff $10.10; CDA $10.90; Associates Degree $11.93
Includes Benefits
Minimum of 90-hr. certificate (Senior Staff Status).  CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.  One year work experience in a licensed center preferred.  Additional education may be used to substitute for center-based experience.

RESPONSABILITIES:

To work with infants through pre-school age children in the classroom and to assist the regular teaching staff with classroom operation.  To provide front-desk coverage / perform clerical duties as needed.  May need to assist transportation – to supervise children during bus ride; to escort children to / from the bus; to take attendance on the bus; and to communicate with parents / authorized pickup person as needed.  May need to assist health services staff with filing.  Also, may need to assist food services staff – daily preparation of breakfast, lunch, and snack for classrooms.
